Pain de Sucre

Also known as: Pain du Sucre

The site starts at the rocky headland of Pain de Sucre, one of the best-known beaches of Terre-de-Haut. A wall covered in sponges, corals and gorgonians runs down to about 20 m, with boulder fields and a seagrass bed at its foot. It can be dived as a gentle drift or as a simple out-and-back from the boat mooring, which makes orientation easy. The mix of habitats attracts most of the reef fish found in the Caribbean, and La Dive Bouteille shows an octopus photographed there among seagrass and tube sponges. Pisquettes uses it as its night-dive site.
