Batu Angus

Batu means rock and angus burnt, after the hardened lava in the water. The sheltered lava bowls carry good hard coral growth in shallow water, and Lembeh Resort says visibility is better than anywhere else in the strait. Divers come for mandarinfish mating and fighting at dusk, while the mangroves around the site shelter juvenile fish and archerfish. The site is also excellent for snorkelling, and Divers Lodge Lembeh notes a floating village on the coast where mandarinfish can be seen in daytime.
