TK 1

Also known as: Teluk Kembahu 1 · Teluk Kambahu 1 · TK1

TK stands for Teluk Kembahu, the bay named after the nearby village, and the TK sites are among the most popular muck sites in the strait. The sheltered slope descends gently over dark sand, rubble, sunken wood and old nets, with low coral patches below about 12 m and small bommies in the shallows. Dive The World lists mandarinfish, Banggai cardinalfish, devil scorpionfish, giant and painted frogfish, sea moths, flying gurnards and leaf scorpionfish among the expected sightings. Black Sand Dive Retreat dives it straight from its beach as part of its house reef.
