HTMS Suphairin
Also known as: Suphairin Wreck · HTMS Suphairon · HTMS Suphairin 313
The HTMS Suphairin is a 44.9 m fast attack craft that served the Royal Thai Navy for four decades, was decommissioned in 2018 and was scuttled in September 2023 off the west side of Koh Nang Yuan. It sits upright on sand at about 24 to 28 m, its highest point is at about 16 m, and it lies only about 15 m from No Name Pinnacle, so many divers explore the wreck first and finish the dive on the pinnacle's reef. Its specialty is a still recognisable warship: the mast, the bridge, a 20 mm gun on the bow and a machine gun mount on the stern can all still be made out. Barracuda, trevally and snapper patrol the superstructure, groupers and emperor fish use it as cover, and Jenkins whiprays and blue-spotted ribbontail rays now live on the surrounding sand, while soft corals are starting to grow on shaded surfaces. Currents are usually mild, and the depth makes it a dive for Advanced Open Water divers, with penetration only for trained wreck divers.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
