Manta Point
Manta Point lies at the northern tip of Shaab El Erg in the north of the Hurghada area. A wide coral garden here holds schools of needlefish, snappers, sweepers, bannerfish, surgeonfish and fusiliers. Because there are no mooring lines, the dive is only possible as a drift pick-up when the sea is calm. Eagle rays, napoleon wrasse and turtles appear regularly. Older guides describe the north point as a gathering place for manta rays, especially in February and March.
