Gota Abu Ramada

Also known as: The Aquarium · Gotta Abu Ramada · Shaab Abu Ramada

Gota Abu Ramada is one of the most visited reefs of Hurghada, about 60 to 90 minutes by boat from the city. The east side is a maze of gullies and grottoes full of yellow goatfish, with three small pinnacles and a coral garden a short swim away. Off the west end stand two larger ergs covered in soft corals and gorgonians that divers can circle in a figure of eight. Bannerfish, butterflyfish, yellow snapper and sweetlips gather in schools, and big moray eels, turtles, eagle rays and the occasional leopard shark visit. Titan triggerfish defend their nests aggressively in late summer.
