Pacanayas

Also known as: Picanayas · Bicanayos · Bicanayos Rock · Bikanayos Rock

Pacanayas, also written Picanayas or Bicanayos, is a small island off the western side of Matinloc in the north-west of Bacuit Bay. Table and daisy corals grow thickly on the round reef, and its outer wall ends on a patch of sand. Large boulders around the island attract whitetip reef sharks, and blacktips occur too. Titan triggerfish, unicornfish, trevally, barracuda and turtles are regular, and pelagic fish pass often. Surge is common, so operators recommend it for experienced divers.
