North Rock

Also known as: North Rocks

North Rock belongs to Tagbao Island, also called Tres Marias, where a coral conservation programme limits diving to this rock. Its flat reef carries large table corals, massive corals and staghorns, and a swim-through of big boulders leads towards the channel to the south. A cleaning station on a branching coral draws golden jacks and pompano, and schools of barracuda, big-eye jacks and golden spadefish gather when conditions are right. Batfish hang against the current, and blacktip sharks and bumphead parrotfish are seen seasonally. PuertoParrot and Vanilla Beach mention whale sharks between October and December. Tabanka Divers reports severe typhoon damage to the shallow corals in 2022 and has taken the site off its daily schedule.
