Vickers Wellington MK 2
Also known as: Relitto Vickers Wellington MK 2 · Relitto aereo Wellington
The Wellington, nicknamed Wimpey by the Royal Air Force, had a geodesic airframe of light alloy covered with fabric and, in the Mark II version, two Rolls-Royce engines. The wreck rests upside down on a sandy bottom with its typical lattice-structured wings, engines, propellers and landing gear still recognisable, while the fuselage is missing. The three-bladed propeller of the right engine is bent, a sign that it was turning when the plane hit the water. Its wingspan is about 19 m.
