Nikouria Cavern

Also known as: Big Cave

The cavern lies on the coast of Nikouria, a small island in the Amorgos area. Its shape frames a striking view out into the open sea, and the walls are completely coated in sponges, corals and large spiral worms. On the way back, pockets in the wall and a meadow of Neptune grass hold fan mussels, nudibranchs and pipefish. Lobsters hide in the cracks and bigger scorpionfish rest on the rock.
