Punta Sur Cathedral

Also known as: Cathedral

The southern Punta Sur reef has large swim-throughs at about 34 m that lead to the chamber. For many years giant sponges in the ceiling formed the shape of a cross lit from above, and its outline can still be seen. Glassy sweepers glitter in the beam of a torch, and reef sharks sometimes pass outside. Because of the depth, the overhead environment and the current, it is only for experienced divers, and it is usually dived instead of Devil's Throat rather than together with it.
