Spirit of America Wreck

Also known as: Peacock

The Spirit of America, formerly identified as the Peacock, is a WWII minesweeper that sank in the 1970s. It rests upright on a sandy bottom, and its hull and structure can be explored. Because it lies in a protected area, fish are plentiful, and the wreck is known for very large Spanish shawl nudibranchs.
