Shag Rock
Shag Rock's steep sides form walls and crevices where lobster, sheephead, lingcod, rockfish and kelp bass live among gorgonians and kelp. Rocky reefs extend in fingers and patches onto the sand to the east and west, prime ground for halibut. Bat rays and leopard sharks also visit the sand. The site faces the prevailing northwest weather, so surge is common and it is dived when the north wind is calm.
