Torre del Faro di Miseno

Also known as: Miseno Lighthouse Tower and Nativity Scene · Torre Saracena · Torre del Faro di Miseno e Presepe

Bradyseism made this concrete tower slide and fall on its east side, and Centro Sub Pozzuoli calls it the largest structure of its kind in the gulf. Its faces still show Roman reticulate and brick masonry. A marble nativity scene by a local artist was set on a corner of the tower at a depth of about 20 to 24 m. Conger eels and moray eels dominate, small lobsters appear in the crevices from March, and a sunken fibreglass boat on the south-east side shelters wreckfish.
