Punta Campanella
The point is the ancient Promontorium Minervae, where Greek and Roman ships waited for fair weather, and the seabed still yields artefacts from that time. A single dive crosses boulder fields riddled with dens, sloping plateaus under huge red gorgonian fans and overhanging walls thick with yellow gorgonians. Small caves are packed with narwhal shrimp that surround divers. Anthias are plentiful, and in autumn little tunny and amberjack hunt the anchovy shoals that shelter along the coast.
