Great Ledge

Also known as: Greatledge

Great Ledge is part of the offshore barrier reef off the northwest coast and is one of the widest reefs of the island. The reef is covered in a wide variety of corals and other growth, and enough light reaches it to show off the colours. Schooling barracuda gather here in the winter months, joined by turtles, jacks, blue chromis and French angelfish. Atlantic spadefish, mackerel, lizardfish and filefish are also seen, and spotted eels peer out from the lower reef. Dive centres rate it for intermediate and advanced divers.
