Bajan Queen

The Bajan Queen started life as the tug Pelican, Barbados' first tug, used while the Bridgetown harbour was built in the 1960s. When newer tugs replaced it, it became a party boat that many Barbadians remember, and it was sunk on 19 May 2002 to form an artificial reef. Today the hull is covered in coral and sponges and surrounded by tropical fish. Its shallow depth makes it accessible to Discover Scuba divers and popular with snorkellers, and turtles are often photographed around it.
