Taiyong

Also known as: Taiyong Shipwreck · Tayoung Wreck

The barge was rediscovered in 2004 by a Jordanian technical diving team and is thought to have been scuttled in the late 1990s after damage made repair uneconomical. Divers follow the reef down from Japanese Garden to the bow and then along to the stern and the large crane lying on the sea floor. The tip of the crane jib is the deepest point at about 58 m. Soft corals and unusual sponges cover the structure, and the wheelhouse and crane machinery offer swim-throughs. Decompression can be done along the reef, sometimes ending at the Cedar Pride.
