Gorgone I

Also known as: Gorgon I · Gorgon 1 · Gorgone One

A zigzag entry through the fringing reef leads to a cabbage coral said to be the size of a house. Each of the three pinnacles has its own community, and the central one hosts a busy cleaning station. Down the slope the big gorgonian fan stands at around 16 m, with table corals to the north and a yellowmouth moray in one of them. Hawksbill turtles, big-eye emperors, sergeant majors and stonefish are typical, and a gully full of fusiliers drops towards Japanese Garden.
