New Canyon

Also known as: Oliver's Canyon

Local accounts say the canyon was found by chance by a German instructor, Oliver Wolf, which explains its other name. The dive usually starts at two coral blocks known as the twins and then loops around two canyons and a field of table corals. Scorpionfish, stonefish, frogfish, octopus and large eels are common, and turtles and rays turn up on the seagrass plateau. At about 24 m the bottom falls away into deep water, so depth control matters. Divers often return along the canyon and end with a safety stop at The Tank.
