The villa is named after its small porch, flanked by two masonry benches where visitors once waited. A row of shops lines the street in front, and inside, rooms open onto a central atrium that gave them light. One room keeps a fine black and white mosaic with a hexagonal pattern, and further north the raised floors and steam channels of the baths are still visible. Marble paving in white and cipollino stone survives on the west side.
