MUSAN

The museum sits inside the Ayia Napa marine protected area and was designed to rewild the seabed alongside the nearby Kyrenia wreck. Tree-like structures rise from the sand, and among them stand figurative sculptures, including children playing, made from inert, pH-neutral materials that invite marine growth. The installation is laid out for both divers and snorkellers, and a typical visit lasts around 45 minutes along a reference line. Turtles, squid, octopus and trumpetfish are among the visitors as the sculptures slowly become a reef.
