Banda Neira Jetty

Stones from old jetties have tumbled into the water along the Banda Neira waterfront and now shelter a population of mandarinfish. A dive at sunset gives a good chance to watch their brief mating display. The main pier is overgrown with sea squirts, sponges and soft corals and is home to juvenile batfish, crocodilefish, several scorpionfish species, many pipefish and large moray eels. Divers staying in town can walk in from the shore, and liveaboards visiting Banda Neira also schedule it as a dusk dive.
