Kudarah Thila

The thila lies in line with a channel opening, so incoming currents sweep it even though it sits inside the lagoon. Its four coral heads carry rich growth of soft corals, gorgonians and black coral, with yellow daisy corals in the overhangs. Thousands of blue-striped snappers gather in the gaps between the heads, with sweetlips, batfish, groupers and gobies close to the walls. Grey reef and whitetip sharks, turtles and Napoleon wrasse cruise off the reef. A swim-through arch near the south-east corner is a highlight, and Ari mantas use the area as a cleaning station.
