Before roads crossed the gorges between the north and the south coast, this harbour was used to ship in supplies. Underwater, the shallows slope gently without sudden drops, which suits training and first dives. Further out the bottom falls away steeply and opens into reefs, small walls, caves and gorges, with large canyons outside the bay. Limestone plateaus are one of the features of the bay. The site is visited in the cooler low season, when spiny and Spanish lobsters are often seen.
