Big Anchor
Also known as: Megali Agkyra
The anchor is about 3 m tall and 2 m wide and is said to be more than 400 years old. It rises out of the sand at 27 m, and fragments of amphorae lie around 33 m. Diver's Club Crete counts the reef among the finest in the Agia Pelagia area, with visibility often reaching 30 m. Large and striped groupers and curious snappers come close to divers, and Spanish dancer nudibranchs are sometimes found.
