La Jeringa

The name comes from a little blowhole that squirts water through the rocks like a syringe. Underwater the bottom is a classic Pacific mix of boulders and coral where yellow-tailed surgeonfish and many other reef fish gather. Dive masters call it demanding because of its depth but easy to navigate, and recommend it for divers with some experience. Cacaluta Island lies within one of the protected zones of the national park, and the visibility there is usually better than closer to the Copalita river.
