Huatulco National Park protects a stretch of bays and coral communities along the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Mexico, and is a recognized scuba diving destination on Mexico's southern mainland coast.
Established in 1998, the park covers about 11,890 hectares combining lowland tropical dry forest with marine and coastal habitat, later recognized as a Ramsar wetland site. It encompasses several bays along roughly 40 km of coastline near the resort town of Huatulco, holding some of the most important coral communities of the Mexican Pacific. Marine wildlife recorded includes reef fish, sea turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and migrating humpback whales.
