Flaauwers - Heerenkeet

Also known as: Flauwers · Heerenkeet · Flaauwers · Flauwers / Heerenkeet

Divers walk about 500 metres from the car park; at high water they can dive the shallow side of the spit, or they continue to the harbour exit where the deep part begins. From the head of the spit a steep slope of overgrown blocks, where sea carnations thrive, leads down, and straight ahead lies a small wreck covered with sea squirts. Further on the bottom falls into a pit of more than thirty metres. The shallow silty and sandy zone holds flatfish, shrimps and mud anemones. Diving in or near the harbour is always forbidden.
