Plompe Toren
Also known as: Plompetoren
A concrete stair over the dike gives direct access from the road. Right away the bottom is strewn with stones covered in white and orange sea carnations and dead man's fingers, and huge fields of brittle stars spread like a living carpet. The overgrown remains of Koudekerke lie on the bottom. Sharks, rays and big cod have been seen here, and pouting, fan worms, dahlia anemones and sea slugs are regular. The current can be strong and visibility poor, and fishing boats sometimes work close to shore, so careful planning is needed.
