Sotobanare Minami
Also known as: 外離れ南 (Japanese)
The reef top is covered with coral and holds anemonefish, anthias and butterflyfish, with crocodilefish and small groups of batfish nearby. A short drop-off falls from about 5 to 15 m, and below it popular gobies live in the sand. Square-spot anthias appear on the wall from about 10 m and glassy sweepers crowd under the overhangs. Broadclub cuttlefish breed here in early spring. The site is about 40 minutes from Uehara and 15 to 20 minutes from Sonai.
