Arakawa W Arch
Also known as: 荒川Wアーチ (Japanese)
Divers enter through a split in the reef and follow narrow, maze-like cuts in the rock to two arches, with light falling through the ceilings. From early summer to autumn the arches are so packed with cardinalfish and glassy sweepers that visibility inside can drop to about a metre. Lobsters hide in the cave, Napoleon wrasse are seen often, and outside the arches schools of fusiliers and passing trevally may appear. The site can only be dived when wind, weather and tide allow.
