Kuroshima V-Drop

Also known as: 黒島V字ドロップ (Japanese) · 黒島Ⅴ字ポイント (Japanese)

A crevice at about 8 m leads to the main wall, which drops almost vertically, and a V-shaped cleft about 10 m high separates a large rock from the reef shelf. Pyramid butterflyfish and fusiliers swarm along the wall, while longnose hawkfish and other small fish live on the rock face. Dogtooth tuna, rainbow runners, Napoleon wrasse and turtles may appear. From December to March mantas are often seen feeding at the surface, sometimes close to ten at once, and visibility of more than 50 m is common.
