Punta Nera Plane Wreck
Also known as: Relitto Aereo
The eight-seat BN-2A Islander had to ditch after its right engine failed, and fishing nets later dragged it to where it lies now. The fuselage rests in flying attitude, tilted slightly onto its right wing, while the detached left engine lies on the sand nearby. Sponges and bryozoans encrust the airframe, and morays and congers have moved inside. Damselfish and bream school around the plane. The site lies between the Liscoli islet and Capo Calvo.
