Chac Mool

The cenote is named after a common Maya stone figure that served as an altar for offerings to the rain god Chaac. Deep Dive Mexico starts the dive in the neighbouring Little Brother and swims through a short tunnel into Chac Mool. Crossing the halocline makes the water shimmer and blur, which photographers like to capture. The rooms are large and the depth stays shallow, so the dive suits newcomers to cavern diving, while the system continues for cave divers. The park has restrooms, showers and a small restaurant, and Triton notes that personal cameras are not allowed inside.
