Zingara Wreck

Also known as: Zingara

The Zingara was a cargo freighter that was prepared and deliberately sunk as a dive site, according to local operators by a dive shop owner named Hans. A long mooring line leads down to its chimney, and experienced divers can enter the stern and the engine room. The hull is overgrown with sponges and corals and attracts French angelfish, grunts, schools of snappers, groupers and a large green moray, with big barracuda and occasional sharks passing by. American stingrays rest on the sand near the stern. Because of the depth, divers usually make a multi-level dive and ascend along the neighbouring reef wall covered in sea fans and whips.
