Alona House Reef

This reef lies only about 120 m off Alona Beach, so it is reached in a minute by boat and some centres also dive it from the shore. Alona Divers describes it as a steep slope and wall. It is the standard site for courses and check dives, and it comes alive at night with basket stars, sponge crabs, octopus and ghost pipefish. Seaquest Dive Center, whose shop the reef lies in front of, adds that mandarinfish court here at dusk. Many moorings along the beach have damaged some of the corals.
