Maeda Flats
Maeda Flats sits just around the corner from the busy Blue Cave area of Cape Maeda, but it is usually far less crowded. Divers wade in from a small beach and do not have to climb over limestone as at Maeda Point. The sandy floor is dotted with patch reefs, garden eels and small schools of fish, and stingrays have been found resting on the sand. Schools of spadefish feed along the reef, and visibility sometimes passes 100 ft. At low tide the reef can be walked across, while snorkeling is best at high tide.
