Mushroom Rock

Also known as: Mushroom

Mushroom Rock is a sunken reef between Red Island and Black Island inside Sheesa Bay. Its flat top falls away on sloping walls, with an underwater ridge on the eastern side. Fusiliers, barracuda, jacks, parrotfish, kingfish, batfish, scorpionfish and honeycomb morays are typical. Because it does not break the surface, boats need GPS or landmarks to find it, though on clear days the reef can be seen from above. It is best dived on a slack high tide.
