Al Maqtah
Also known as: Al Maqta
Al Maqtah lies inside Khor Habalayn, opposite Ras Sarkan, at the entrance to Al Maqtah bay, one of Sheesa Beach's favourite overnight moorings. A wall runs down to about 12 m before the reef slopes away on the eastern drop, with a coral garden along the way. Turtles, leopard sharks, yellow boxfish, marble rays and fusiliers are regular, and nudibranchs suit macro divers. The direction of the current decides whether divers drop on the point or further along the wall, and the bay inside the headland makes an excellent night dive.
