Eric's Pinnacle
Also known as: Inner Chase Reef
Eric's Pinnacle stands off the Pacific Grove shoreline near Otter Cove, inshore of the main body of Chase Reef. The rock rises steeply from a sandy floor, with low reefs spreading out around its base. Its walls are covered in crabs, anemones and other invertebrates, and fish gather around the structure. Local charters such as the Beachhopper II visit it from Monterey harbour, and Pacific Scuba Divers recommends it for new divers on calm days.
