Aumentos Reef
Also known as: Aumentos Pinnacle
Aumentos Reef rises off Pacific Grove just outside Chase Reef. The top lies around 40 ft; on the seaward side a steep granite wall drops vertically and then slopes to 80 to 85 ft, while the inshore side steps down to 50 to 55 ft. Clusters of corynactis, white metridium anemones and nudibranchs cover the walls, and schooling blue rockfish, sheephead and bat rays have been seen. It is mostly a boat dive, as reaching it from Coral Street means a swim of nearly half a mile.
