Dona Marilyn
Also known as: Dona Marilyn Wreck · Donya Marilyn
The Dona Marilyn was an inter-island passenger ferry of about 98 m that sank in Typhoon Ruby (Unsang) on 23 October 1988 with heavy loss of life. It rests on its starboard side, with the deepest parts in the low thirties of metres. Older operator pages describe a largely intact hull overgrown with coral and draped in coral-covered fishing nets, while DIVEIN reports that illegal salvage in 2018 broke much of it apart. Whitetip reef sharks and marble and blue-spotted rays rest on the sand nearby, and glassfish, sweetlips, scorpionfish and batfish gather around the wreck. It lies in a channel where current can be strong, so operators recommend it for advanced divers.
