Bugtong Bato
Also known as: Butong Bato
Bugtong Bato, meaning single rock, is an underwater pinnacle just a few minutes from Malapascua. Its top lies at about 15 m and its base around 30 m. A large school of batfish lives here, and squid and mackerel cruise in the current. Nudibranchs, scorpionfish, lionfish, zebra crabs and whip coral shrimp cover the rock. Current is common, so it suits more experienced divers and nitrox.
