Deep Rock
Deep Rock is a sunken rock off the north of Malapascua, with a flat top at about 14 m and steep walls around it. Colourful soft corals, sea fans, sponges and feather stars cover the walls. Frogfish, ornate ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, shrimp and crabs are regular finds, and pygmy seahorses and harlequin shrimp appear in some seasons. Current can be strong on tide changes and sometimes brings schools of trevally or barracuda, and nitrox is recommended.
