Quebrada

Also known as: Que Brada

Quebrada, Spanish for 'broken', is a re-entrant in the reef about half a mile north of Long Caye Ridge. A narrow ridge of coral rims a crescent-shaped wall that is vertical to slightly overhanging, and sandy patches below the boats are dotted with coral stacks. A single sand chute cuts through the coral to the wall and holds arrow crabs, banded coral shrimp and green morays. Because boats fed fish here for years, yellowtail snappers, black groupers and ocean triggerfish come close to divers. Spotted eagle rays and turtles visit the wall.
