Cathedral Reef
Also known as: Cathedral
At Cathedral the reef is cut into tall coral formations separated by sand channels, and a cluster of them in the middle of the site, the tallest more than 2 m high, resembles church spires. Divers weave through narrow passages and short tunnels between them before reaching the wall, which crests at about 9 m. Anemones host cleaner shrimps, and French angelfish, stoplight parrotfish, groupers and yellowtail snappers are common. On the wall, sheet corals almost 2 m across, basket and yellow tube sponges and deep-water lace coral grow, and turtles, lobsters and eagle rays are seen.
