California Dreaming
The site was found with guests from California who said it reminded them of their home state. Two coral peaks with a sand flat between them rise from the seamount, and the shallows are good for giant frogfish and tiny boxer crabs. The most exposed side descends in a series of steps formed by boulders and sand shelves, covered in a kaleidoscope of soft corals. Sea fans hold Bargibant pygmy seahorses, Pontohi pygmy seahorses live among the corals, and reef octopus, tiger shrimp and passing mackerel and tuna are seen.
