Police Corner
The reef slopes steeply with coral ridges and sandy pockets, and currents converge around the point. Large overhangs between about 22 and 35 m give shelter to schools of fish hiding from patrolling sharks. Whitetip reef sharks, trevally, snappers, bumphead parrotfish and fusiliers are regular, while blue-spotted stingrays and garden eels live on the sand. The name goes back to patrols that were once stationed in the area. Timing for a mild current window is key.
