Ann Sophie's Reef

Also known as: Anne Sophie's Reef · Anne Sophies · Ann Sophie's

Ann Sophie's Reef lies at the end of a reef structure running south from one of the coastal islands in the north of the bay. From its top it slopes down to sand scattered with small bommies wrapped in soft corals. The reef mixes brain corals, sea fans, black coral trees, barrel sponges and orange sponges, while garden eels and shrimp gobies live on the sand. Barracuda, trevally, batfish, fusiliers and unicornfish swirl around the reef, and grey reef sharks and turtles are often seen. Conditions range from still water to a current across the top.
